Chris Jordan completed a family fairytale when Fulmonti scored an upset win in the Group Two Hollindale Stakes.
Jordan, 54, came to Brisbane to train in his own right in 2003, the same year his brother Kerry quit Sydney's training ranks.
"My brother has won this race twice with Corndale and Hunter and told me he thought it was time I won it."
Fulmonti duly delivered in the 1800m Gold Coast feature when the 6-year-old powered home to down Kiwi stayer Izonit by a half-neck with gallant frontrunner Sir Slick a further three-quarters of a length away third.
His biggest win before yesterday was last year's Group Three Chairman's Handicap (2020m) at Doomben.
* Glen Colless capped a remarkable comeback to riding when he rolled the dice in the stewards' room and walked away with victory in the Listed Prime Minister's Cup.
Colless finished second on gutsy gelding Mr Hornblower to an aggressive Craig Newitt ride on Rightfully Yours but protested against the Victorian visitor, citing severe interference at the 200m mark.
Stewards agreed with Colless and awarded the race to Mr Hornblower.
Colless was making his return after he almost severed two toes on his left foot.
Champion sprinter Takeover Target won the Group One The Goodwood at Morphettville.
Takeover Target, in Adelaide on his way to another international campaign, ended up winning South Australia's premier sprint by a length, but there were some anxious moments.
