Richard Yuill doesn't know what to expect from Echo Maid in tomorrow's $35,000 Waikato Stud Stakes at Wanganui.
And that's simply because the little-raced filly has not stopped improving since her Breeders Stakes win at Ruakaka in mid-July.
Echo Maid confounds Yuill. "When she ran third two starts back it was a fair run - you could never say she'd win a stakes race judged on that effort.
"But then at home she kept improving and improving and you saw what she did in winning the stakes race at Ruakaka, it was a terrific effort."
Yuill said the same upward plane has been maintained since that victory.
He says with Echo Maid being knocked out of the race and forced to run home from last at Ruakaka, he is unconcerned about meeting any of those who finished behind her.
