KEY POINTS:
MELBOURNE - Dwayne Dunn will be aiming for a hat-trick of wins in the A$1 million ($1.13 million) Blue Diamond Stakes when he pilots the David Hayes-trained Sleek Chassis at Caulfield on Saturday.
Dunn won the 2005 Blue Diamond aboard the Mark Kavanagh-trained Undoubtedly, a $26 chance, and last year scored on the Hayes colt Nadeem who started at $17.
Sleek Chassis, one of five runners this year for the leading stable, goes into the race better fancied than Dunn's past two winners.
Sleek Chassis is at $9 chance with TAB Sportsbet in what is an open betting market.
The Flying Spur filly has raced three times and is on a hat-trick following 1000m wins at Caulfield in December and Moonee Valley this month.
Hayes said it was hard to put one of his runners above any other. "It's a really open race and I think all of my five have some chance," Hayes said.
Happy to let Hayes pick his rides in big races when the stable has multiple runners, Craig Williams will ride Cecconi and he's hoping the race result is good for him and Hayes this time around.
Last year he rode Miss Finland who finished runner-up to Nadeem and Dunn on a track which was downgraded to heavy following a deluge during the meeting. However, Hayes and Williams combined when Miss Finland went on to an easy win in the Golden Slipper.
