Trainer Clarry Conners' hopes of Invest adding Saturday's Queensland Oaks to her triumph in the Australasian Oaks in Adelaide were dented when she drew barrier 22.
A capacity field of 18 plus five emergencies was paid up for the 2400m feature, including Dowager Queen who will race in the colours of new owner Gerry Harvey after he bought her for A$710,000 ($919,000) on Tuesday.
She drew ideally in barrier five while New Zealand filly Quintessential came up with the inside gate.
Fellow Kiwis Poste Restante and Miss Artistic drew 11 and 12 respectively.
Sydney filly Angel Of Mercy drew fairly in barrier 10, one to the outside of Scorpio Queen.
