X-rays on Scott Seamer's shoulder and elbow today will reveal the extent of the damage suffered in his racefall at Te Rapa on Saturday.
The Queensland-based jockey flew back to Brisbane late on Saturday night after crashing from well-fancied Abbey Drive in the $50,000 HS Dyke Waikato Guineas.
Abbey Drive clipped heels and lost Seamer in the early stages of the Guineas.
Seamer was determined to return home to Ballina on Saturday night for the birthday party of his 3-year-old daughter Kaitlan.
The Australian was flown to Auckland Airport in the private helicopter of one of Abbey Drive's owners, Peter Vela.
Uncomfortable and loaded with painkillers, he boarded his Brisbane-bound flight was met the other end and driven three hours south to Ballina.
"Although the x-rays will tell a lot more, Scott expects to be out of action for only six weeks," said the jockey's manager Wayne Lansky.
The stipendary steward's report said no rider could be held responsible for the incident in which Seamer's mount Abbey Drive clipped a heel of Zed.
* In the last on the card the judicial committee declared Zakharova a non-runner because it appeared its starting stall had been slow to open.
