Don't expect to be able to walk into a TAB office this Sunday.
Most TABs are expected to be closed for Easter Sunday. There is no New Zealand racing programmed for the day but the New Zealand TAB will take betting on Australian racing.
TAB agents' secretary Frank Brooky, of Wellington, said agents were not compelled to open their doors on Sunday and most would not.
"I haven't spoken to everyone, but no one has said they will open," he said.
Easter Sunday was one of three days in the year when agents were not required to open. The other two were Good Friday and Christmas Day.
"It's going to be an unprofitable day and punters continually tell us there are too many racing days during the week," said Brooky.
Betting on Sunday will still be available via telephone or the internet and in some outlets such as pub agencies.
