KEY POINTS:
Nineteen horses remain in the $2 million Kelt Capital Stakes at Hastings on October 6 following the second-last of the payment stages yesterday.
Final withdrawals, at a cost of $37,125, are taken on October 3 when the field for the 2040m group one weight-for-age event will be drawn.
There is one late nomination provision remaining which closes on September 25 at a cost of $45,000.
Most notable among those withdrawn was star Australian mare Miss Finland. She had headed the New Zealand TAB's fixed-odds market for the Kelt virtually from the time entries were taken in May but was not rated much more than a 50-50 chance of crossing the Tasman.
Others of note who have been withdrawn include Jokers Wild (down to race in Melbourne on Saturday), the David Hayes-trained pair of Blue Monday and Molotov and the Mark Walker-trained Uberalles.
The only remaining Australian-trained entry is Dane Empire from the Victorian stable of former New Zealander Brian Jenkins.
Remaining entries (trainers in brackets) are:
Cog Hill (Richard Collett, Shane Hapeta), Dane Empire (Brian Jenkins), Far Away Places (Jeana Annett), Gaze (Roger James) J'Adane (Russell Cameron, Gareth McRae), Jurys Out (David, Sarah Haworth), Lilakyn (Guy Lowry), Magic Cape (Shaune Ritchie), Mandela (Richard Yuill), Ombre Rose (Shane Marr), Porotene Gem (Kevin Gray), Princess Coup (Mark Walker), Railings (Roger James), Sculptor (Peter McKenzie), Seachange (Ralph Manning), Sir Slick (Graeme Nicholson), Splashing Out (Guy Lowry), The Pooka (John Wheeler), Veloce Bella (Mark Brosnan).
