KEY POINTS:
Grand Dancer has got trainer Bruce Wallace excited.
And it isn't just the fresh-up win at Ruakaka on Saturday that's done it.
Wallace felt Grand Dancer was special even before the youngster's Eclipse Stakes win at Ellerslie this year.
That's why he booked him to fly to Sydney early next week before he won on Saturday.
Wallace has eyes on the Caulfield Guineas in the spring and will pick his way through a few Sydney races beforehand.
The Hong Kong-owned 3-year-old was rated at 80 per cent fitness going into his race at Ruakaka, but still managed to pull out enough to beat Suave Emperor and locally trained favourite Align To Infinity quite comfortably.
"He is a definite group one horse," enthused Wallace.
Although trained on the track, Align To Infinity did not appear entirely happy in the track conditions.
* Former Hong Kong galloper Who Knows may just have got himself a start in the $250,000 Mudgway Partsworld with his winning run at Ruakaka on Saturday.
It might not have looked spectacular, but the victory was much better than it appeared.
Who Knows showed he can sit on an electric pace and kick hard in the closing stages - the type of horse that will always be difficult to beat, regardless of the class.
Natalie Tanner has done a wonderful job of getting Who Knows back from a number of problems.
