Racing: Culminate up to task

Culminate's task under 58kg might look daunting on paper in today's $20,000 Veloce Bella 1400 at Te Rapa, but trainer Stephen McKee believes it's not impossible.

"Yes, this is just a top-up for the Breeders Stakes at Te Aroha, but she's pretty forward for the run. She's only a small mare and the weight won't make it easy for her, but she has a bit of class.

"When you look at the field half of them are stayers on the way up. She's capable of taking care of them."

Culminate has won five of her nine starts at today's 1400m distance.

Taking The Mickey is a real chance.
