The Lisa Cropp drugs case has been further adjourned, this time until possibly the middle of next year.
Cropp's lawyer, Barry Hart, is making application to the High Court for a judicial review of a judgment handed down by racing's Judicial Control Authority panel hearing the case, Geoff Hall and Phil Welsh.
It had been hoped the Cropp case could continue to be heard while the High Court decision was being awaited, but the JCA panel yesterday announced it would adjourn until the High Court decision is handed down.
JCA chairman John Grant said that was consistent with other recent cases including the Blue Magic case and again more recently with that involving the Stratford Racing Club.
Prosecutor Simon Moore said his advice was to proceed in advance of the High Court review.
The delay was therefore disappointing, Moore told the Herald last night.
