KEY POINTS:
Dual acceptor Crossyourheart will run in the Wentworth Grange 3YO at Te Rapa tomorrow. Trainer Richard Collett had also considered Sunday's open sprint at Ellerslie, but decided on the Te Rapa option.
"She's heading for the Railway and we wanted her to have the easiest possible lead-up.
"Te Rapa is the easy option. Sure, there are some talented fillies engaged, but it is against her own age group."
Collett still considers the brilliant Crossyourheart a day-to-day proposition after suffering a bleeding attack at Matamata last February.
He has had the filly scoped after each of her two races so far since coming back and the results are clear.
You have to say that last start in the tricky ground at the Counties meeting at Ellerslie that she had a very hard race.
"The track was worse than we'd hoped for and it was a very testing run for her and she came through it fine."
He says he can see a big improvement in Crossyourheart, which doesn't surprise him.
"We're approaching the time of year when she struck her best form last time."
Crossyourheart's 59kg will be reduced 2kg by the engagement of Tasha Collett.
She will still give 1kg to Lovetrista and 2kg to Martini Red.
Lovetrista is getting ready for the 1600m of the Eight Carat Classic at Ellerslie on Boxing Day and may not quite be sharp enough for tomorrow's 1200m.
Martini Red copped no luck at all in the sprint against the older horses at Otaki last start and should do better here.
