New Zealand's chief stipendiary steward Noel McCutcheon is to retire at the end of season.
New Zealand Thoroughbred Racing (NZTR) announced yesterday McCutcheon, who has been with the organisation for 26 years will end his career on July 31.
After a successful career as a jockey he joined NZTR in 1980 as a part-time steward based in Levin. This became a full time position in 1983. He transferred to Auckland in 1988 for two years, before returning to Levin to take up the role of chief stipendiary steward.
