Charliehorse was given an official warning after once again racing erratically when third in Saturday's $600,000 Derby.
The connections of Charliehorse were advised that a repeat of his running to the outside running rail would see him stood down from racing.
In each of his starts at Ellerslie, Charliehorse has wanted to get to the outside of the track, his riders being unable to keep him straight.
Trainer Lance O'Sullivan said Charliehorse would now be spelled.
His performance to get up into the dividend-bearing placings from well back in the field taking a diagonal route from the home bend was truly remarkable.
Rider Jason Waddell said Charliehorse's tendency comes solely from his head.
"Hopefully he'll come back next preparation and forget all about it."
It wasn't the only sparkling performance behind Wahid.
Twinkling looked the best in the parade alongside Wahid.
The Cambridge filly raced accordingly, sitting deep on the track for much of the race, showing rare heart to power home to be less than a long neck from third.
Being from a Brisbane Cup-winning daughter of Sir Tristram, Twinkling can only get better.
"She'll be an awesome horse next season," said co-trainer Royce Dowling.
This was the race in which we were going to discover how good Congrats is, but we never did.
Congrats found trouble throughout the race and his mid-field finish told you nothing.
Grant Cooksley said Black Panther (15th) was never travelling like a winner.
