Racing: Changeover cleared

Vets have cleared star pacer Changeover to start in Monday's Ashburton Flying Stakes.

Changeover was a late scratching from a race at Addington last Friday night when stipendiary stewards acting on veterinary advice deemed he was not fit to start because of a hip wound.

The late scratching of Changeover led to his trainer Geoff Small withdrawing stablemate All Tiger from the same race within minutes of start time. Small has since been charged with an act detrimental to the interests of racing because of All Tiger's late scratching.

Changeover is being aimed at defending his New Zealand Cup crown on November 10.
