KEY POINTS:
Queensland pacer Blacks A Fake's dominance of pre-post betting for next month's Interdominion series appears set to further tighten after the group one Ballarat Cup in Victoria tonight.
Blacks A Fake was heavily backed to win the 2710m country feature during the week.
After drawing the "pole" position, Blacks A Fake has been backed from $1.80 to $1.55 with Eskander's Betstar, while he hasn't budged from his opening quote of $1.55 with TAB Sportsbet.
Trainer-driver Natalie Rasmussen also sounded an ominous warning to her rivals in the lead-up to the $125,000 Cup.
Rasmussen said Blacks A Fake had derived great benefit from his first Victorian start last Saturday.
Blacks A Fake came from the outside second row draw in his first-standing start for two years to win the group two Moonee Valley Cup.
Rasmussen said Blacks A Fake - winner of the past two Interdominions - had really blossomed during the week and the horse's trackwork had been as good as ever.
She said the gelding had drawn "ideally" and she expected him to prove hard to beat.
John McCarthy, trainer of dual Miracle Mile winner Be Good Johnny, said he expected his horse to improve, especially from his favourable gate two draw.
Victory for Be Good Johnny would provide him with automatic entry into the semi-finals of the Interdominion. Blacks A Fake and Safari are among those guaranteed entry.
