Natalie Rasmussen is leaving nothing in the tank with Blacks A Fake.
The Queensland trainer-driver knows her champion faces his hottest opposition and the crushing weight of history in tomorrow night's Interdominion Final.
But after drawing barrier one on the tight Parklands track, her "Blacky" has the perfect springboard from which to launch his bid for an unprecedented fourth title.
And Queensland's pacing queen says he will be ready.
"I have really worked him hard this week," she says.
"He needs to be at his best, his absolute best, to beat a horse like Auckland Reactor.
"And that means outstaying him, so I have worked him down to his peak racing weight and now the rest is up to him.
"He is just great at the moment and couldn't be more ready."
Rasmussen admits Blacks A Fake is not the all-conquering force of the last three seasons, with Auckland Reactor and Changeover having younger, faster legs.
But she is keen to play catch-me-if-you-can with them.
"If there is one certainty in this race it is I will be in front," she says.
"And if they can come around him and beat him then so be it.
"But he will be a better horse than last week because I was a bit easy on him between heats."
Rasmussen has the comfort of knowing she is likely to have an outsider in Diamond N Furs on her back tomorrow night, rather than a rampant Changeover.
And on this familiar track that could be enough for a fourth Interdominion title.
