"The forecast was for rain in Sydney on Thursday, Friday and Saturday and I didn't want to be running him on a heavy track but it doesn't look like that will eventuate. We decided against the Villiers and he will be kept to his own class this time around.
"There's plenty of time if he measures up.
"He also doesn't appreciate being backed up too soon.
"The week after the Villiers there was a race at Canterbury but I didn't think the track would suit him.
"He seems to have an affinity for Rosehill so we decided to wait."
Single showed so much promise as a 3-year-old that he earned a start in the Queensland Derby in June.
He finished a respectable eighth in the 18-horse field at his fifth start and was immediately sent for a spell.
Carmody said another benchmark 80 race on January 21 was pencilled in for Single after tomorrow.
"It's over 1800m so we'll assess things after that," he said.
"I think a mile to 2000m is right up his alley and he could maybe go to one of the lesser autumn carnival races."
The former jockey has six horses in work and takes a hands-on approach.
"I've got room for a couple more but I like to keep it controllable and also still ride my own work," Carmody said.
He is getting a little help with that these days with the addition of trainee apprentice Jimmy Innes to the stable.
"Jimmy is 17 and the son of Jamie Innes," Carmody said.
"He has just started riding in trials so he has a way to go before he rides in races."
Kevin Moses is in the process of rebuilding his Randwick stable and looking to Mr Unforgettable to get the ball rolling tomorrow.
A couple of months ago, Moses was left with just 18 horses when a syndication company decided to transfer its interests to other trainers. The winner of seven races and almost half a million dollars prize money, Mr Unforgettable is the best-performed horse in the stable and runs in the Schweppes Handicap (1400m).
It will be his first start since he finished out of the money in the Eye Liner Stakes at Ipswich in June.
"Seventy per cent of the horses went and I've had to start again," Moses said.
"I've got 18 horses and, hopefully, Mr Unforgettable can get things going.
"He's had some back problems but we've worked on him. He spent the first three weeks of his preparation working at Centennial Park.
"He's well although he runs better with a bit of rain so I would like some between now and Saturday."
Moses has given Mr Unforgettable three trials for this campaign.
