Cambridge Stud owner Sir Patrick Hogan has been moved to quash rumours his New Zealand thoroughbred breeding farm has been sold to Australian interests.
"I am concerned that there have been a lot of rumours circulating in Australia and New Zealand that I have sold Cambridge Stud," Hogan said yesterday.
"These rumours have been gathering momentum for some time and in the past few weeks they have become very strong.
"I will categorically state that this is not the case and the farm will remain under the ownership of Lady Justine [his wife] and myself."
He said any offers would not be considered as the stud wasn't for sale.
"I had a phone call from Australia at the weekend to congratulate me on selling Cambridge Stud to an Australian operation and I knew that it was time to put the record straight."
Cambridge Stud was the leading vendor, by aggregate, for the 26th consecutive time at the Bloodstock Yearling Sales at Karaka two weeks ago.
It is home to champion stallion Zabeel, leading sire Stravinsky, promising sires Keeper and Viking Ruler and new sire One Cool Cat.
