Ten points to racecaller George Simon.
Two hours before yesterday's Off The Rails was recorded at Ellerslie racecourse yesterday, Simon received a phone call to tell him he was required to do a haka during the show with co-host former leading Sydney jockey and TV personality Malcolm Johnston.
He swapped the steering wheel on the drive from Cambridge to Auckland with wife Maryanne and reassured himself on the words of the haka, via Google (we're sure he won't mind us saying that).
If you missed it on last night's telecast, what resulted was hilarious as Simon stripped a previously well-attired Johnston down to his trou to share with him one of the great impromptu hakas, guiding Kingston Town's famous pilot brilliantly.
Off The Rails, popular with punters in Australia, is wonderful for the racing industry.
