KEY POINTS:
New Zealand Oaks winner Boundless will travel to Sydney next week after her tilt at the $A500,000 ($592,000) Australian Oaks on April 30 was confirmed yesterday.
There had been some doubts about the filly making the trip because the quarantine restrictions in the wake of last year's equine influenza outbreak in Australia might have meant a lengthy delay in Boundless returning to New Zealand.
But trainer Stephen McKee said those concerns had been allayed and Boundless would return to enjoy a well-deserved spell before being aimed at the rich spring races, including the $2 million Kelt Capital Stakes at Hastings.
"Hopefully she should be back by the middle of June," McKee said.
Boundless was an impressive winner against older horses over 2100 metres at Ellerslie last Saturday, proving to McKee that she was worthy of taking on Australia's best staying fillies.
She will leave for Australia on Thursday next week.
