Saturday's $35,000 Waikato Stud Stakes is not the last time this year you'll see winner Boudi Woudi clash with runner-up Echo Maid.
And the betting around the pair next time will be interesting.
Vinny Colgan gave Boudi Woudi the run of the race while poor old Matthew Williamson could do nothing about being parked three wide in mid-field on Echo Maid.
The latter was entitled to drop off in the final 200m, but instead fought bravely right to the line to be only one length from the winner.
The favourite, Hpnotiq, finished fourth, rider Cameron Lammas declaring that the filly would not take gaps when required in the home straight.
Trainer Lance OSullivan said she would be tried in blinkers next start.
