Champion sprinter Black Caviar is out of the Doomben 10,000 on May 28, with trainer Peter Moody planning to spell the wonderful mare.
The Melbourne horseman said the winner of her 13 starts was not injured but he preferred to give her a break while she was fully fit, rather than being "flat as a tack" after another clash with perennial foe Hay List.
The owners agreed with the decision to abandon her Brisbane winter campaign.
"Look, she could have gone around again and won, then gone to the paddock a spent force," Moody told the Herald Sun.
"But this way she goes out on a high note and gets a good six weeks in the paddock."
"I'll give you one word: woohoo," Hay List's trainer John McNair said on hearing the news.
