KEY POINTS:
Michael Rodd has picked up the ride on the talented David Hayes-trained three-year-old Cecconi in the group three McNeil Stakes after Sydney jockeys Darren Beadman and Hugh Bowman were denied permission to ride at today's Caulfield meeting.
Cecconi was one of seven rides Beadman had at Caulfield. But neither jockey is allowed to ride in Victoria after riding trackwork at Randwick.
Sydney trainers with runners and Queensland's Ron Maund also cannot go to Caulfield as part of the extensive protocols and procedures imposed.
Mark Zahra will ride Danever in the Listed Martha Cove Classic and Rada in the Listed Arrow Training Services Plate respectively.
Hayes has long rated Cecconi as one of his better younger horses and he will clash with the recently acquired stablemate Shrewd Rhythm in the 1200m McNeil which promises to be a highlight of the return to racing in Melbourne.
Lee Freedman was forced to find new jockeys to replace Beadman on New Kid In Town, who will now be ridden by Steven Arnold in the Winning Edge.
Corey Brown is the new rider for Cefalu in the listed D'Urban Quality.
Last night Freedman hadn't found a replacement for Beadman on Falstaff in the Memsie Stakes.
Flemington trainer Robert Smerdon needs to find a Beadman replacement for Bella Princess in the Kids Clothing Company Cup.
Freedman selected outstanding apprentice Sebastian Murphy to replace Bowman on Brazen Hussey in the Arrow Training Services Plate.
* The Globe Derby harness meetings in Adelaide scheduled for tonight and Monday have both been abandoned.
The New Zealand TAB was to bet on both meetings.
