Legendary trainer Bart Cummings remains in Melbourne's Epworth Hospital where his condition is reported to be stable.
A statement from the hospital said Cummings, who was admitted on Wednesday, was "doing well and his condition remains stable".
It is the third time this year Cummings has been hospitalised.
He spent some weeks in Sydney's St Vincents Private Hospital with pneumonia in April, missing his first autumn carnival in 50 years.
Cummings was also hospitalised at the end of August after fracturing his pelvis in a fall after he tripped over a step.
The master trainer did not attend Wednesday's barrier draw for the Victoria Derby in which he has two runners - Cosmonaut and Kudakulari.
Cummings dual Cox Plate winner So You Think is the favourite for Saturday's Mackinnon Stakes ahead of a possible tilt at the Melbourne Cup which the trainer has won on 12 previous occasions.
