Misshiraz showed the benefits of a good barrier and experience when she won comfortably at Rosehill.
Having her third start, the Garry Frazer-trained filly jumped from barrier one and was able settle around midfield before letting down with a nice sprint to defeat the fast-finishing Extra Celestial by 1 lengths with Smash Hit a long head away third.
Snap Dragons, the favourite, flopped, finishing more than 24 lengths last and was ordered to undergo a veterinary examination.
Misshiraz's quiet early run was in direct contrast to her last start when she was pushed forward because of a wide barrier at Rosehill on October 24 when she was second to Intertidal over 1100 metres.
On debut in the Listed Gimcrack Stakes last month, Misshiraz was 12 lengths last in the race won by Gybe after being forced to work hard to get a position early from barrier eight of 13.
Gai Waterhouse had much to celebrate when Emotional Outburst won at Rosehill less than half an hour after A$2 million horse Seventh Reason broke his maiden at Kembla Grange.
Emotional Outburst stepped up to the 2000m of the Vincents Forensic Accounting Handicap after being unplaced over 1300m on November 3.
The favourite got the better of O Danny Boy in a fighting finish to win by a long head and set himself on the path to the Summer Cup (2400m) on Boxing Day.
"I knew he would have no trouble going from 1300 to 2000 metres," Waterhouse said. "He will go to the Summer Cup now."
Seventh Reason finally broke through at his seventh start when he held off Leaping Leroy to win the Warilla Hotel Maiden (1600m).
By Sadler's Wells out of Sunday Joy, the 4-year-old entire has earned less than A$25,000 from his seven starts which include three second placings.
