KEY POINTS:
B Grudge is likely to run in the Easter Cup at Addington after his surprise win in the $64,000 Invercargill Cup at Ascot Park on Saturday.
B Grudge, who was 11th in the Northern Southland Cup at Invercargill on January 17, stormed home to beat hot favourite Bondy by three-quarters of a length, with a nose back to the unlucky Classic Cullen.
Trainer-driver Colin De Filippi said B Grudge had raced below his best in the Northern Southland Cup and had improved since then during his stint at Hamish Hunter's stable.
Bondy had to work hard from his 30m handicap to get the lead and his cause was not helped by being taken on by Gimme A Break in the middle stages. He will head to the Easter Cup, while Classic Cullen will contest the Auckland Cup on March 7.
