Racing: Another crack at $1m Pick6

With a $1 million Pick6 and the $200,000 Mudgway Stakes at Hastings tomorrow, serious punters won't be watching a lot of television tonight.

Most of them will be anxious to finally have a decent crack at a massive "pot" after Taranaki's washed-out $1 million Pick6 meeting last weekend.

With these fields compared to the much more difficult and lower class races last Saturday, there is some chance the pool might climb higher than the $1 million.

Unlike last week, there are a number of possibilities for anchors, something that really entices punters.

There is no question some will be looking at Darci Brahma in the Mudgway Stakes as a sole Pick6 selection.

The TAB was embarrassed about posting Darci Brahma at $3.50 last week, but because of the avalanche - and that's the only way to describe the level of betting - of money for the favourite, the TAB has progressively gone from $3 to $2.75, to $2.50, to $2.30.

For the first real classy raceday for months, there are talented horses sprinkled through the programme and class attracts punters.

In Mon Reve looks well placed, having won on the Hastings track and been placed in some strong juvenile events last season.

Cedar Manor inis no anchor, but his spring form each year is impressive - don't forget he has won in group class at the Melbourne spring carnival. He won on this day last year and there was a lot to like about his last-start Te Rapa victory.

Arlingtonboulevard comes into Race 7 nicely as a group one winner and stablemate Darci Brahma is looking good for the following race.
