Former New Zealand Thoroughbred Racing chairman Murray Acklin returns to its board of directors after the withdrawal of another candidate in the southern region.
Incumbent Marion Stevenson withdrew her nomination for the region on January 11, leaving Acklin as the sole nominee. Acklin retired as a board member in 2003.
His appointment, along with four others, was announced yesterday.
Peter Francis and Neil Oldfield join the board as directors of the Breeders' Association and Owners' Federation respectively, while current chairman Guy Sargent and director David Smith return as the central and northern region directors.
