With a name like Heartbreak City, it seemed the Melbourne Cup horse was destined to be pipped at the post but Irish owner Aidan Shiels couldn't care less yesterday.
"We're not going to cry," Shiels said after his horse was edged by Almandin in the 156th running of the event.
"By God we're not going to cry. We're delighted with that run," the Irishman said.
His horse may have come second but Shiels produced the best post-race interview saying he would have been 'happy with last'.
"I don't care! I don't care," he roared at Channel 7 reporter Neil Kearney seconds after the race finished.
