KEY POINTS:
Kiwi colt Jokers Wild will face a small but select field if he tries to break a run of group one minor placings at Rosehill on Saturday.
The Mike Moroney-trained 3-year-old is one of just seven nominations for the group one A$400,000 ($458,000) George Ryder Stakes (1500m).
Also nominated are Doncaster Handicap favourites Mentality and Apache Cat, much-hyped Victorian colt Haradasun and Casino Prince, who nosed Jokers Wild into third at his previous start in the group one Australian Guineas (1600m) at Caulfield on March 10.
Jokers Wild also ran group one second placings in the Otaki-Maori Weight-For-Age, Levin Classic and Two Thousand Guineas this season.
Melbourne-based Corey Brown has been booked for the ride on Saturday.
A start for Jokers Wild will depend on the Sydney weather, co-trainer Paul Moroney has said. Rain is forecast for today and Saturday, with a decision on Jokers Wild's Sydney trip to be made after trackwork today.
Should the Sydney trip go ahead, other group one targets are either the A$2 million Doncaster Handicap at Randwick on April 9 or the A$400,000 All Aged Stakes (1400m) at Randwick on April 14.
