An Australian jockey has been fined for a premature celebration at a picnic race meeting - despite being the sole runner in the race.
Apprentice Jody Hughes knew she was a good chance to pocket the prize money at the meet in southern New South Wales after the other horse was scratched.
Her mount, March Ahead, cruised the 1000m - and she gave a wave to the crowd before passing the post.
However, the win was soured when stewards stung her AU$100 for making the gesture early.
