KEY POINTS:
Peerless New Zealand racing breeder Sir Patrick Hogan is recovering in hospital following a series of seizures.
The Cambridge Stud owner was admitted to Waikato Hospital over the weekend but was confident his health was on the improve.
"I'm in hospital having tests run at the moment," Hogan said. "I was pretty crook over the weekend. I had eight seizures but now I'm pretty good, I'm fairly stable."
Hogan, widely regarded as being among the world's finest breeders and studmasters, was an inaugural inductee into the New Zealand Racing Hall of Fame last year and his Cambridge Stud was last year named the world's top thoroughbred breeding establishment by US magazine Thoroughbred Times.
Several times named NZ breeder of the year, Hogan inspected and bought champion stallions Sir Tristram and Zabeel and has bred more than 75 group one winners.
