Powerboating: Racing deaths

Two men were killed during weekend powerboat racing on the Manning River in northern New South Wales, including an unnamed 44-year-old American.

Police would not officially identify either competitor until next of kin have been notified.

The event was an annual Easter weekend of racing sponsored by the Taree Power Boat Club.
