Australian swimming great Grant Hackett has reportedly been arrested in Melbourne after an alleged mid-flight incident.
The three-time Olympic gold medallist, who recently missed out on qualifying for the Rio Games, was allegedly involved in an altercation with a passenger on a flight out of Adelaide after the national swimming championships.
Radio personality Ray Hadley reports the alleged incident occurred when a passenger sitting in front of Hackett in business class reclined his seat. He says Hackett was taken off the Virgin Australia flight at Melbourne airport by Australian Federal Police for questioning by Victoria police.
Hackett was bound for the Gold Coast "but he won't be getting there any time today", Hadley told 2GB. Hackett, who turns 36 next month, was a guest speaker at an Adelaide Crows function on Saturday night.
The Olympian was a guest commentator for the Seven Network at the recent Olympic qualifiers after his own events wrapped up.
