Some of New Zealand's top poker players will reconvene at Sky City casino in Auckland today, aiming to be crowned Auckland Anniversary Deep Stack champion and take home a slice of the $129,000 prize pool generated from the Main Event.
After two days of play just 49 players remain from a starting field of 129, who all paid $1,100 to enter the tournament.
Notable players remaining include World Series of Poker bracelet winner Simon Watt, 2010 Auckland Anniversary Main Event champion James Honeybone and Pokerstars SCOOP Main Event winner Shaun Goldsbury.
