Kiwi poker player Te Rangi Matenga holds the chip lead over the remaining 46 players at the Waitangi Deepstacks Championship main event at Auckland casino.
134 poker players put up $1,100 to enter one of New Zealand's biggest poker tournament which has generated a prizepool of $134,000.
After the completion of Day One A, B and C, Matenga holds 147,500 in chips where the average for the remaining 47 players is 57,000.
Matenga won the Sky City Festival of Poker Main Event in 2015, and came third in the same tournament in 2016.
The Main Event champion will take home $40,000 in prizemoney and the top 12 players will all make at least $2,270
