Earlier this week we showed you the worst innings in the history of cricket. Today we bring you the worst attempted run-out.
South Australian paceman Kane Richardson really has no excuse. The Redbacks quick bizarrely failed to hit the stumps at the non-striker's end when Tasmania's Ben Laughlin backed up too far in a Ryobi Cup match.
Richardson had plenty of time to knock the bails off with ball in hand but had a brain explosion and inexcusably opted for an underarm throw.
Worse still, the Tigers went on to claim a two-wicket win with a ball to spare, and that wicket would likely have made all the difference.
