Australian cyclist Simon Clarke embarrassingly celebrated a stage victory of the Giro d'Italia despitre finishing 22 seconds behind the winner.
Clarke lifted his arms in jubilation after winning a sprint finish to the fourth stage. What he didn't realise was that another rider Davide Formolo had already completed the stage win after breaking away from the peloton.
Clarke didn't realise his mistake until rival cyclist Giovanni Visconti had to point it out, from which Clarke's raised arms were quickly placed on his head in embarrassment.
It was still good news for Clarke though, he secured the overall leader's pink jersey after the second placing.
