Shooting: Reid eighth in rifle event

Wellington's Greg Reid finished eighth in a rifle event at the paralympic shooting world championships in Bonn, Germany, yesterday.

Competing in a field of 71 in the 10m air rifle prone, Reid scored 599 out of a possible 600 and was required to compete in a shoot-off with five others for a place in the final eight.

Reid placed second there and scored 104 in the final, won by Sungwon Jang from South Korea with a score of 106.3.
