Adam Hall's ambition to win back-to-back slalom Paralympic medals were dashed in Sochi today.
Hall, who won gold in the standing slalom discipline at Vancouver four years ago, finished seventh in the two-run event in Russia.
Dunedin skier Hall clocked a combined time of 1min 44.25s, 5.28s behind winner, 16-year-old Russian Alexey Bugaev. Suffering the effects of a stomach upset since Thursday morning Hall struggled to find his top form.
Bugaev, who has now won a full set in Sochi - after winning silver in the downhill and bronze in the Super G - recorded 1:38.97, to head off France's Vincent Gauthier-Manuel (1:40.24) and another Russian, Alexander Alyabyev (1:40.74).
Hall was 3.02s off the fastest first run time and was seventh, but had the fifth best second run time.
