New Zealand sailors have incurred the wrath of Sydney Harbour's spiteful winds, breaking their boats on the eve of the Olympics.
Star sailors Gavin Brady and Jamie Gale suffered a broken boom while training on the harbour this week, and have asked for a replacement to be flown from Philadelphia.
The 49er duo of Dan Slater and Nathan Handley lost a mast on the same waters in a strong breeze.
The rest of the New Zealand yachting team will put their equipment to the test this weekend - the yachties will be the first guests to check in to New Zealand's houses in the Olympic village tomorrow.
