KEY POINTS:
Tom Ashley has decided he will aim for a second straight Olympics board sailing gold medal at the 2012 London Games.
Ashley, 24, has been weighing up his future since winning the event at the Beijing Olympics last August.
He has also been appointed to work as an adviser for the New Zealand Olympic team.
Yachting New Zealand has announced that Jez Fanstone will take over from Rod Davis as their new Olympic programme manager.
Fanstone's previous role was with the British Olympic yachting team, where he was triple Olympic gold medallist Ben Ainslie's coach in the Finn class.
Fanstone will bring his knowledge of the `British system' to New Zealand's Olympic yachting programme.
Fanstone started work this week and doesn't see any major changes being made at this stage.
"I've seen all the plans, it all looks good to me and it all makes sense."
Married to New Zealand round the world sailor Leah Newbold, Fanstone has been living in New Zealand for two years and has two children.
