Unwanted Greco-Roman wrestling coach Trent Scott has turned down an offer of another job in the New Zealand Olympic team.
Scott was to have gone to Sydney as coach of the two Greco-Roman wrestlers, but he was dumped when they said they did not want to work with him.
He had signed a contract with the NZOC to be part of the team, so chief executive Mike Hooper invited him to go to the Games anyway, offering him an administration job.
But Scott, still smarting from being axed, said "no thanks."
The wrestlers' choice, former Iranian Olympian Reza Ghambari, has been given limited accreditation to work with the pair as their personal coach.
However, he is not part of the official New Zealand team and will pay his own way.
