Byron Wells qualified fourth best, and brother Beau-James fifth, with 16-year-old Nico Porteous squeezing into the final by finishing 11th.
So he will go off second today, with Beau-James Wells eighth and Byron ninth on the startline in the final, which is also over the best of three runs.
It will be a big day in Wanaka too - Sadowski-Synnott and the Wells brothers are from the southern town. Porteous is from Christchurch.
