In the men's cross-country skiing 30km pursuit in Pragelato, Norway's Frode Estil had to settle for silver but stole the limelight from Russian winner Eugeni Dementiev after an extraordinary fightback.
He fell at the start of the race, took several skiers to the ground with him and lost one of his skis in the process. But from 77th, he carved through the field for silver.
