The continuing mystery of how many, if any, New Zealand women triathletes will line up in the opening event of the Games should be solved on Tuesday.
Selector Graham Park said yesterday that he was still unsure whether the Kiwis had qualified for one or two places in the women's field.
Evelyn Williamson and Jenny Rose are the eligible contenders, but both failed to meet the selection criteria at the world championships in Perth last weekend - finishing outside the top 15. Park is still holding out hope for Australian Rina Hill, ranked No 5 in the world, being given New Zealand citizenship in the next few days, after being turned down on her first attempt.
Ben Bright and Hamish Carter have been given two of the three men's spots, with Paul Amey, Craig Watson, Jamie Hunt and Shane Reed the main contenders for the final berth.
