In the space of about 40 seconds in August 2012, Lisa Carrington's life changed.
She went from being a world champion canoe sprint racer who had a small profile in New Zealand to a household name after winning gold in the K1 200m at the London Olympics.
Carrington is now arguably New Zealand's greatest Olympic athlete. She could cement that spot over the next month in Tokyo.
Her Olympic career began with a third in the heats of the K-2 500m alongside Erin Taylor at the London Games. Four days later she would secure New Zealand's sixth and final gold
