Shooter Ryan Taylor's selection for the London Olympics has been confirmed after he won an appeal to the Sports Tribunal of New Zealand yesterday.
Taylor, who competes in the men's 50m prone, appealed after he was initially left out of the Games team because he wasn't deemed to meet the New Zealand Olympic Committee's strict criteria that an athlete must be capable of finishing in the top 16.
The International Shooting Federation today approved an application by the NZOC to re-allocate a shooting quota spot from women's trap to men's 50m prone.
It means Taylor will go to his second Olympics - he finished 36th in Athens in 2004 - but women's trap shooter Natalie Rooney won't now go to London after being told she was in the New Zealand Olympic team.
