Here's one in the eye for New Zealand rugby, with one Australian pundit putting a hand on the Olympic gold medal already.
Australia is turning bullish over its Olympic rugby gold medal prospects, with the women's team being touted as "sure things" to stand atop the Rio podium this year.
While New Zealand has dominated previous sevens world series, winning all three, Australia has made a flying start this time winning in Dubai and Brazil.
News.com.au has suggested the Aussie sevens will be in an elite group which has included the likes of 2000 Sydney 400m star Cathy Freeman who will go to the Olympics as unbeatable. It noted the Australian sevens had opened up a huge lead with three tournaments to go despite missing some injured stars.
"We're a good team and we want to be able to be a good team in all conditions," Australia's coach Tim Walsh said.
