New Zealand's forgettable Olympic yachting regatta has left team officials tending to a host of disappointed sailors.
Manager Don Cowie agreed that no medals from eight crews was a disappointment, but said five top-10 placings was still something to reflect on with a degree of pride, particularly considering the inexperience of some of the sailors.
Two of those top-10 finishes went to Mistral sailors Tom Ashley (10th) and Barbara Kendall (fifth).
The others were Hamish Pepper in a Laser (7th), Yngling crew Sharon Ferris, Joanna White and Kylie Jameson (7th) and Sarah Macky in a Europe (8th).
Those out of the hunt were Finn sailor Dean Barker (13th) and the two 470 crews - Linda Dickson and Shelley Hesson (16th) and Andrew Brown and Jamie Hunt (26th).
"There's been a lot of disappointing results here and obviously a lot of disappointed people," said Cowie, an Olympic silver medallist in the Star class.
"Everybody comes here with the goal of winning a medal.
